A Guide to Use the Question Analysis Feature

The question analysis feature is a premium feature on BrainCert that has been designed to help instructors measure the overall performance & quality of Assessments. The system will automatically generate a report & give a recommendation on whether or not the questions (Multiple choice questions & True or False) in an assessment needs a review based on calculations that measure the Difficulty Index and Discrimination Index.
Difficulty Index:
As the name suggest, Difficulty index is used to identify the difficulty level of questions. The purpose of finding the DI is to decide whether we need to retain the question or modify or remove it for the next test in the same subject.
Discrimination Index:
Discrimination Index is used to identify whether the question helps us to find the low and high performers and it decides whether the question is good at telling who is good performers or bad performers.
Using the Assessment Analysis Feature
Step 1:
Login to the Platform and navigate to 'Assessments' under 'Products'. Select 'Run analysis' under options corresponding to the test you want to analyze. Once you click Run Analysis you will be redirected to the Question Analysis page.
Step 2:
On the Question Analysis page you will get a complete report on the Average Score, Possible Questions, Completed attempts, Average time spent, Discrimination, and Difficulty. The system will automatically give you recommendations on the questions that needs to be reviewed.
Using the Question Analysis Feature
Here is how you can use the analysis feature on individual questions.
Step 1:
Go to 'Assessments' and click on the more option of the required course. Now select 'Questions' from the list.
Step 2:
Select 'Options' corresponding to the assessment whose questions you need to analyze and select 'Question Analysis'.
Step 3:
Once you select questions, you will be redirected to a page with the list of all questions under the assessment. Select 'Question Analysis' under options, corresponding to the question you want to analyze.
Step 4:
Once you select 'Question Analysis' you will be redirected to a page with a complete report on the Discrimination and Difficulty of the question along with review recommendations.
