Self-Registration for Course Enrollment

Students can easily enroll themselves in a course during the user account creation process through self-registration. Follow these steps to enable and configure self-registration in your LMS:

Step 1:

Navigate to the 'Global Settings' and open 'User Registration'.

1

Step 2:

In the 'User Registration' settings, you will find various options for user registration. Scroll down to 'Allow users to enroll in a Group during registration' and set the option to 'Yes'.

This allows users to select a group during the registration process.
2

If you want to force all users to register into a default user group, then select the 'Allow users to enroll in a Group during registration' option to 'No'. This gives you the option to select a group from the drop-down to force enroll all users to this specific group after registration.

To facilitate this process, you need to create a 'Group' in advance.

Step 3:

Next, click on the 'Default User Type' setting and select 'Learner' from the dropdown menu.
This ensures that newly registered users will have the Learner role by default.

After configuring the settings, click on the 'Save' button to save your changes.

Assign User Group

Step 1:

Navigate to 'Courses' and select 'Manage Courses'. Click on the 'Options' of a course and choose 'Assign User Group' from the list.

Step 2:

Select one or more groups and click the 'Save' button.

When the students log in to the LMS after registration, all the courses, tests, and live classes assigned to the group that the student belongs to will be visible.

If you're selling the courses, students would need to buy the course to get full access. Assigning courses to the group simply grants the 'view' permission to all the users in the group.
